This months Clickin’ Moms Blog Circle Challenge was food. I set out to make French Macaroons for this challenge. I wanted to photograph something colorful. With all of the ingredients laid out and ready to meet their culinary destiny, I smelled smoke. Sure enough the oil that had spilled from my roasted veggies last week was turning black and quickly filling the kitchen with smoke. On to plan B. I didn’t have a plan B. Scouring Pinterest, my fridge and pantry I quickly searched for something I could make (without using the oven) and photograph. What does probably every American have in their kitchen? Vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Chocolate floats it would be. I promised my 5 year old it would be all his once I was done. While gathering my camera and lights I told my son not to touch it. I came back to find he had added an m&m. He was so proud of his addition. I’m just thankful he chose a brown one to match. So here is my take on food photography for this month.
